As you read this, I am in Tasmania, one of the few places we have not yet had the opportunity to visit. (Hopefully with my wife of 25 years on the pillion of a beast of a motorbike.)
If you know my story, you will know that I am not a native Australian. Yep, I am one of the boat people that snuck in under the radar…
But I want to share with you that myself and my family are extraordinarily blessed and feel privileged to be able to call Australia home.
We have always believed that life is more meaningful if you make the world a better place by sharing your skills and talents freely with other people. I am not going to list the ways in which we do this, but I want to share with you a new way that I thought we might be able to apply this principle.
After a corporate career in South Africa, we started our own business, which we ran for 7 years. When we came to Australia 11 years ago, we repeated that recipe and started
Ganador Management Solutions about 3 years ago after a stint in the corporate. You can get a more detailed
bio here and
a profile here.
This brings me to this post; and this point in time.
I really like the idea of how professionals (lawyers etc) – in the movies at least – offer their services Pro Bono. And I wanted to try that too.
Our gift to Inside Retailing community:
I will work for you in your business, in any capacity you choose, for one day. No charge: Pro Bono.
I want to give back to the people, the country and the industry that has given so much to us.
The best value you will get is ask me to help you with things like:
· Retail Performance Audits
· Marketing Audits
· Customer Experience Design
· Strategic Planning
· Training, Facilitation, Workshops or Speaking
· Shopper Marketing
But, it may be that you just need someone to work in your shop so that you can get a day off. Or to do filing, or fetch you the tea. Whatever you need, I will be at your service. (I am not great in the kitchen, but whatever.)
I am also hoping that you will express interest if your business is experiencing growing pains, or feel your business has stagnated or indeed even if it is in critical care. We would like to help someone who really wants to use it.
The conditions are:
· The only cost to you is travel if it is outside of Sydney Metro.
· If there is more than one applicant, Robert Stockdill will decide who gets the Pro Bono day.
· I don’t write any reports afterwards. (But I will give you some of my intellectual property – e.g. training courses – as applicable as part of the day.)
· It is for one day only.
That’s it. No strings. I don’t even add your email address to my mailing list. Just the things that I know and the skills that I have; to YOU, as a gift. Nothing in return.
Write to dennis (at) ganador.com.au – and I will respond to you once I have returned from Tasmania (in a few days) and as soon as Robert has picked a business (if there are more than one). Just give your contact details and a sentence or two about what you would like me to do.
Actually, come to think of it, there is one condition. You have to be brave. Are you?
