Big names rule when it comes to online computer and peripherals retailing, with Apple Australia and the Apple store Australia's most visited computer related websites, according to Experian Hitwise data.
The Experian Hitwise Top 20 - computers, tracks Australian visits to all websites and stores that focus on the sale of computer hardware, accessories and non-game related software. The list covers the week ending January 30, 2010.
Apple Australia is miles ahead of the pack, taking 14.46 per cent of all computer product related sites, however, it must be kept in mind that during the week these figures account for, Apple launched its much hyped iPad product, which no doubt would have provided a significant boost in visits to Apple. Second on the list was the Apple store, with 8.83 per cent of visits.
Although it came in third, HP should be quite pleased with its performance during the week, garnering just 0.3 per cent less visits than the Apple store with 8.5 per cent.
Dell Asia Pacific and Harvey Norman Australia round out the top five, with 7.55 per cent and 6.26 per cent respectively.
Other Australian computer websites to rank in the Top 20 include Dick Smith, Zazz, Umart, MSY Technology, Mwave, The Co-op Bookshop, City Software and Tech Buy, proving Australian ecommerce sites can definitely run with the computers big boys.
