The former Western Australian Premier, Alan Carpenter, has accepted a position as the new head of corporate affairs for Wesfarmers.
His acceptance comes just weeks after resigning from state parliament.
Carpenter was a former television reporter before going into politics. He had been teaching politics part-time at Notre Dame University but will move into the new role within weeks as executive GM for corporate affairs.
The conglomerate's previous corporate affairs boss Mark Triffitt stepped aside earlier in the year for health reasons.
