Zara boss, Amancio Ortega, is the third richest person in the world, according to Forbes' Richest People on the Planet list for 2013.
It's the first time Ortega, 76, has been placed in the top three, after Microsoft founder, Bill Gates and Telecom chairman, Carlos Slim Helu, with a net worth of $57 billion.
Ortega was also the biggest gainer on the list, up $19.5 billion. Ortega stepped down as chairman of fashion distributor, Inditex, best known for its Zara brand, in 2011, but still owns nearly 60 per cent of its shares, which soared 50 per cent year over year on record profits.
The top 10 included the daughter of L'oreal founder, Liliane Bettencourt, at number 9 with a net worth of $30 billion, followed by chairman and CEO of LVMH, Bernard Arnault with an estimated worth of $29 billion.
Outside the top 10, H&M chairman Stefan Persson ranked 12, with $28 billion. Aldi owner Karl Albrecht($26 billion) was ranked 18 followed by Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos ($25.2 billion) and CEO of Google, Larry Page ($23 billion). |

I presume you mean $57 billion, not million as Carlos Slim Helu's net worth?
