Top exec joins Officeworks

Officeworks has appointed of David Haydon as director - merchandise, marketing, logistics and store development.

Haydon has extensive retail experience spanning 20 years in Australia and the UK.

He joins Officeworks from Kingfisher Plc, Europe's largest home improvement retailer, where he was commercial and marketing director for its market-leading international businesses.

At Kingfisher he oversaw commercial and marketing strategies for high growth markets including China, Poland, Russia, Germany and Turkey.

He was a member of Kingfisher International's board and part of the division strategy team. Previously Haydon was commercial strategy director at UK home improvement retailer, B&Q.

His retail experience also includes roles in large retail organisations including Wickes and Hutchison Whampoa in the UK, and David Jones and Westfield in Australia.
