Domino's Pizza has told the Australian Financial Review the company will push ahead with expansion plans, with group sales currently ahead of expectations.
The chain plans to open 50 new stores worldwide in 2009 despite the economic slowdown.
Don Meij, Domino's CEO and MD told the AFR comparable store sales were positive over the first four months of the financial year as consumers sought cheap meal options.
“Pizza still remains an affordable meal for families as people shift from eating out to ordering in,” he said.
Online ordering had increased to more than 13.5% of sales in Australia, he said.
