Metcash's Campbells Wholesale division has signed a national supply agreement with Video Ezy.
The agreement will initially cover sales of confectionery to the video chain's 476 franchised stores.
Campbells Wholesale is aiming to encourage the chain to consolidate supply across other product categories such as snack foods, audio-visual equipment and CDs.
The Australian Financial Review reports that convenience store supply deals will help insulate Campbells from the impact of new competitors such as Costco.
Campbells Wholesale CEO, Peter Dubbelman, told the AFR the group was also in negotiations with several other major convenience and route trade retailers seeking to consolidate supply.
He said Campbells Wholesale was one of the few suppliers that could provide a total supply solution across all categories - groceries, confectionery, general merchandise, and health and beauty.
