One of Australia’s oldest food franchise businesses, Cookie Man, will celebrate its 50th birthday with a number of in-store promotions on April 19 and other events throughout the year. The company has also opened its 50th store at Rouse Hill this week.
Cookie Man was first opened in Melbourne's flagship Myer store in 1958 by Kevin and Evelyne Hicks, who pioneered the food franchise business model in Australia. While Kevin passed away a number of years ago, Evelyne is still involved with the Cookie Man business and she is certainly one of the country’s longest-lasting and most successful female entrepreneurs.
Cookie Man, which is based in Sydney, is currently owned by Allied Brands Limited. It plans to take the Cookie Man brand into a least three new countries this year.
